🌞 SUMMER COURSE 2026 – OPERA & PERFORMANCE

From 10–21 July 2026, classical singers are invited to an intensive summer course at Cultuurcentrum Vreedehuis, Den Haag. This course offers a unique opportunity to deepen your artistic identity as a singing actor and to prepare yourself for the operatic stage at the highest level.

Under the guidance of three outstanding specialists, participants work on the integration of voice, music and drama:

• Floris Visser – stage director
• Amand Hekkers – professor of voice
• Hans Schellevis – opera coach / repetiteur

🎭 ARTISTIC FOCUS

This summer course is dedicated to the development of the complete opera performer. The work combines vocal technique, musical interpretation and theatrical truth. You will explore how text, music and action merge into character, style and drama.

Participants receive:

• Individual voice lessons
• Scene work and staging, combined with musical coaching
• Interpretation of text, style and character
• Integration of technique, expression and physical presence

Great attention is paid to language, musical detail, dramatic intention and personal artistry, helping singers translate musical preparation into convincing stage performance.

🎶 FROM STUDIO TO STAGE

You will work intensively on recitatives, arias and (possibly) ensembles*. The course encourages curiosity, craftsmanship and artistic responsibility — essential tools for today’s operatic world.
The working atmosphere is focused, supportive and inspiring, with space for experimentation and growth.

* Upon enrollment, you will be asked to propose two arias of your choice (preferably with a recitative).

Fee & Payment Conditions
Course Fee: € 999 (VAT included)

Upon registration, a non-refundable registration fee of € 200 is required to secure participation (see enrollment form below).
The remaining balance of € 799 must be paid no later than 31 May 2026.
Registration is confirmed upon receipt of the registration fee.

Cancellation Policy
The registration fee of € 200 is non-refundable.
In the event of cancellation by the participant after payment of the full course fee, the following conditions apply:

• Cancellations made before 31 May 2026: the paid balance (€ 799) will be refunded, minus the non-refundable registration fee.
• Cancellations made on or after 31 May 2026: a refund of the paid balance can only be made if the participant’s place can be filled by another singer. In that case, the balance will be refunded minus the non-refundable registration fee.

In the unlikely event that the organisers must cancel the course, all payments will be refunded in full.

Please note that housing is not provided by the organisation. Participants are responsible for arranging their own accommodation during the course period.

This course is intended for students (BA III onwards) and professional classical singers who want to strengthen their vocal, musical and theatrical skills and prepare for the professional stage.
